Our Arch above

29 December 2021

To all colleagues and friends

We are deeply saddened to hear of the recent passing of Archbishop Desmond Tutu (the Arch). While the world commemorates a life well lived, for our Group, it is indeed a profound loss.

The Arch was one of the co-founders of Kagiso Trust in 1985 adamant about implementing the critical developmental work required during apartheid times in order to support communities. He remained a patron of Kagiso Trust up until his passing, having oversight as to how the group has evolved. Today, the wider Kagiso group of companies benefit from his foresight and wisdom.

We celebrate a life well-lived and in our particular instance, a visionary who has guided us to where we are today. We have collaborated with Kagiso Trust, Kagiso Media and Kagiso Capital to express our immense respect for the contribution the Arch has made to the wider group in a media campaign.

However, we leave you with the Arch’s timeless words, particularly apt during this festive season, "Do your little bit of good where you are; it's those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world."

Hamba kahle, Arch. Your legacy remains with us and we commit to seeing it through into the future.
